Teilo Trimble is a visual artist and freelance filmmaker. Brought up in Pontneddfechan; at the head of the Neath Valley, an area of rich industrial heritage and outstanding natural beauty; these twin, and often-contradictory themes run through his subsequent practice. Teilo was influenced by and studied under the late Osi Rhys Osmond at the Swansea Institute of Higher Education before graduating from the International Film School of Wales. Teilo later established an independent production company in Cardiff and produced and directed numerous independent productions, notably a community Film project “Pizzaman” in 2008. Teilo has worked in many roles both in administrating and promoting the arts in Wales. He was invited to contribute to the book “Encounters with Osi”, the essay was published in 2015 alongside essays by Mererid Hopwood and Iwan Bala. He has coordinated larges scale youth Arts Projects and has spent a period in France where he co-directed a community film “Poisson Rouge”. Teilo lives with his family near Aberystwyth.

Working in the genre of documentary film, he has worked with numerous clients and organisations; most recently working on several projects with Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch, and Artistic Director Jeremy Turner, including the Arts Council of Wales - Lead Creative Schools projects and Creative Collaborations. Teilo is a multi disciplinary artist using mainly video, and painting. Working in collaboration with his brother; poet Rhys Trimble they have exhibited video installations “TV Screens” and “Cych” in Bocs Caernarfon, Canolfan Arad Goch and several international festivals. Using collage, paint and often incorporating “found” objects and improvised “canvasses” Teilo’s work primarily reflect upon the landscape, and reference Welsh mythology, past and future visions and figures as diverse as Carwyn Jones, Katy Perry and Bendigeidfran. They are placed in the landscape, often layered, covered, vanishing and re-appearing as paint, chalk, oil pastel, and ink layers are added and removed. Teilo has worked on a series of seascapes inspired by the Ceredigion coast and “Gorwel” a poem by Dewi Emrys and is currently working on a new series of paintings inspired by travel and roads. His work is included in collection of the National Library of Wales and have been exhibited in the Contemporary Welsh Art Exhibition in London, Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, Nantes- Sonocraft, Aberystwyth Arts Centre "Oriel Lockdown" and recently " Salon des Refusés".
